Devon Demetria "Demi" Lovatois was born 20 August 1992. She is an American actress and singer and songwriter. Her early roles included a part about Barney and friends before she became better known for her role as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock movie, as Sonny Munroe in Sonny with a chance and as the leading role in the 2009 movie Princess Protection Program.

She has an older sister, Dallas Lovato and a younger half sister, Madison De La Garza. Her mother was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and country musician father moved to New Mexico after their marriage ended in 1994. She received a baccalaureate through homeschooling in April 2009. She began playing piano at age seven.



Lovato started her acting career at the age of seven kids TV show Barney and Friends as Angela, who appears in seasons seven and eight together a long time friend Selena Gomez.

Lovato guest appeared in an episode of medical drama series Grey's Anatomy as a teenage patient whose parents took her in for schizophrenia.
